Learning motivation is a very important element for students in determining
the target of achieving learning outcomes. The higher the motivation and effort
made, the greater the results to be achieved. Ivet University students consist of
several categories including scholarship recipients and non-scholarship students.
The aims of this study were (1) to determine the level of learning motivation
of scholarship students; (2) knowing the level of non-scholarship students' learning
motivation; (3) find out whether there are differences in learning motivation of
scholarship students and non-scholarship students of the Economics Education
Study Program.
This study uses a quantitative approach with comparative descriptive
analysis. The population is 169. In determining the sample, the quota sampling
technique is used with a sample of 102 students. Data collection methods in this
study are questionnaires and documentation. Data processing was carried out
using SPSS 25.0 software which included a normality test and a t-test (Independent
Sample Test).
The results of this study are (1) the motivation level of scholarship students
is very high with an average indicator of 85.31%; (2) the learning motivation level
of non-scholarship students is high with an average indicator of 73.32%; (3) there
is a difference between the learning motivation of scholarship students and the
learning motivation of non-scholarship students of the Economics Study Program
as evidenced by the significance value of 2-trailed (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.000 and
0.000, which is less than the probability of 0.05 (p = 0.000 and p = 0.000
