As social beings, humans always want to interact with other humans.
Education is communication in every learning process that involves two
components consisting of humans, namely teachers as communicators and students
as communicants. The teacher plays an important role in shaping the attitudes,
behavior and character of students, this is done by the teacher by interacting
directly with students during learning and outside of learning.
This study aims to determine: (1) the teacher's communication style with
students of class XI Multimedia SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Sukolilo Pati; (2) social
attitudes of class XI Multimedia students at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Sukolilo Pati;
(3) The relationship between the teacher's communication style and the social
attitudes of class XI Multimedia students at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Sukolilo Pati.
This study uses a quantitative approach. The population of this study were
students of class XI Multimedia at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Sukolilo Pati with a total
of 37 students. Data collection techniques used questionnaires, observation and
interviews. Data analysis technique using chi square.
The results showed: (1) most students said the teacher used an assertive
communication style and a small number of students said the teacher used an
aggressive communication style; (2) students of class XI Multimedia SMK
Muhammadiyah 3 Sukolilo Pati have good social attitudes; (3) The teacher's
communication style has a significant relationship with the Social Attitude of class
XI Multimedia students of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Sukolilo Pati, which is obtained
from the result that chi square count = 9.91233 > chi square Tabel = 9.48773 with
a significance level of 5% or α = 0. 05. And the result of P-value = 0.04193 < α =
0.05.
