The purpose of this study was to determine the efforts to increase cognitive
abilities in recognizing number symbols through modifications to the jump rope
game and to what extent the effectiveness of the jump rope game modification
activities at PAUD Bahrul Ulum Sendang, Todanan District, Blora Regency.
The study used 2 cycles, in Cycle I there were 2 meetings and in Cycle II there
were 2 meetings. Actions in Cycle I and Cycle II consisted of planning, observing,
reflecting. Data was obtained by observation and documentation. Data analysis used
descriptive analysis.
The results of the study show that teachers contribute to improving students'
cognitive abilities. The teacher's factor in managing learning through a variety of
varied and creative learning methods can improve the quality of the learning
process. The results of learning abilities in the development of cognitive abilities in
recognizing number symbols with a modification of the jump rope game at the PreCycle stage obtained results of 30.55%. cycle I increased to 61.90% and in cycle II
the percentage score increased to 89.68%. There is an increase in recognizing
number symbols by 60.71% of these results indicating that the research is said to
be successful. Thus it can be concluded that the media modification of the jump
rope game can improve cognitive abilities in recognizing the symbols of numbers
1-10 in Early Childhood Education Bahrul Ulum Sendang, Todanan District, Blora
Regency.
