Background to the problem: The future of a nation is not only determined
by mere intelligence, but one's creativity also plays an important role in
determining the progress of a nation. because the creativity that is owned will
produce a new innovation that can elevate the nation's status in the eyes of the
world. In real life, we often encounter intelligent people, only a few succeed in their
future. therefore teachers as educators should provide learning that not only
increases children's intelligence, but also provides learning that can increase
children's creativity.
The purpose of this study was to find out whether drawing with a
contextual learning approach can increase children's creativity in the Delima
Playgroup, Penawangan District, Grobogan Regency.
The research method used in this study is Classroom Action Research,
which is research conducted with an examination of learning activities in the form
of an action that is deliberately raised and occurs in a class together. This research
was carried out collaboratively between school principals, class teachers and
researchers to equalize understanding, agreement on problems, decision-making
which gave rise to common actions (Action) aimed at increasing the activity and
creativity of early childhood.
Locations used as research objects are; in the Delima Playgroup,
Penawangan District, Grobogan Regency in 2023. The subjects were 20 children
in the Delima Playgroup, Penawangan District, Grobogan Regency, along with
their teachers and school principals.
The results of the study were: children in the Delima Playgroup,
Penawangan District, Grobogan Regency experienced an increase in creativity
through drawing with a contextual learning approach.
The conclusion is; (1) Through children's play activities drawing with a
contextual learning approach increases the creativity of the Delima Playgroup
children in Penawangan District, Grobogan Regency, (2) In the first cycle of
learning there is an increase in children's creativity through drawing with a
contextual learning approach. In pre-cycle conditions with a completeness
percentage reaching 10%, at the end of the first cycle there was an increase in the
percentage of completeness reaching 65%, (3) At the end of cycle II learning there
was also an increase in children's creativity through drawing with a contextual
learning approach with a percentage of 95%.
