The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in the vocabulary
skills of children aged 4-5 years through the storytelling method with paper
puppet props at the Dharma Wanita Ngrandah III Kindergarten, Toroh District,
Grobogan Regency.
Childhood is also called the golden age, where at the age of 0-6 years is a
sensitive period as well as a critical period of the entire human life cycle. At this
time the child is experiencing very rapid development, one of which is the child's
language skills. This research is based on the fact that vocabulary skills in
Dharma Wanita Ngrandah III Kindergarten are still low and still use methods
that are less interesting so that they look monotonous for children. Therefore,
learning improvements are carried out through PTK with the aim of increasing
the vocabulary skills of children aged 4-5 years through the storytelling method
using paper puppet props.
The research method used in this study was class 2 cycle action research.
Cycle 1 and Cycle 2 consisting of planning, action, observation and reflection.
Each cycle consists of three meetings.
The results of the research at the first meeting of the first cycle were
19.05% complete, the second meeting of the first cycle was 42.86% complete, the
third meeting was 66.67% complete. The research continued in cycle II, with the
first meeting completeness results of 76.19%, second 80.95% and third 85.71%.
Research achieves indicators of success, namely at least 85%. This shows that it
can go according to plan, so the research results can increase "and it can be said
that this research is accepted.
